Why did you decide on Celanese?
|
The
only other jobs I had while getting my degree in political science, law and German were at the University of Constance or in public
administration.
However, it is important to me to gain some experience in a
company before I finish my degree. Celanese gave me the chance as a lateral hire to familiarize myself
with the company’s financial environment.
|
What
job was assigned to you as a part-time student employee?
|
After
extensive
training, I was given a job in the accounting department analyzing and reviewing the credit records and credit-worthiness of our customers. Customer financial and balance sheet data are
analyzed before a credit limit is assigned. The five months were an exciting time because I learned
a lot about business administration and how to use SAP. This will be very helpful in my future career!
|
What
did you especially like about working at Celanese?
|
The
company expected me
to work independently and gave me a lot of responsibility. I really appreciated the fact that Celanese
showed it had confidence in me.
The flat organizational structure in this international
company means you have a very pleasant work environment. I was also impressed that the company focuses on the future.
The job
was a
lot of fun too!
Having a background in liberal arts has helped to give
me a
broader perspective as I focus on my future career.
